Quick tips for dealing with stress

Permanent stress can make everyday life a pain - and make people sick. But there are different ways to deal with strain and exertion. Leading to the lecture, getting annoyed by the boss, bringing the children to school - stress is a constant companion for many. To ensure that the stress does not make them sick, stress-stricken individuals should first take their own nose and think about their attitude, advises the graduate psychologist. So they should ask themselves: Do I really always do everything myself? Do I have to do everything absolutely right? And do I have to do it all right? Those who stay relaxed can cope with stress better. If someone is still under permanent pressure, the following tips help to balance:

Sports: Stress releases energy in the body that will be dismantled. "Movement is the only way to prevent the energy from being directed against the body," says the chairman of the Wellness Association. Well-being against stress is endurance sport like running or cycling. "Just no team or competition sport, because that's stress again because it's about winning."

Consciously relax: breathing techniques, autogenic training, progressive muscle relaxation or tai chi are soothing and help in coping with stressful situations. "I recommend patients' yoga in the morning to be more relaxed in the day". But sitting alone on the couch does not help. "Then you may ponder, and the stress thoughts will pick you up again."

Enough Sleep: adequate sleep is very important for the regeneration and the immune system. There is no stipulated minimum number of hours. "It's about whether you feel fresh and powerful in the morning," explains the psychologist. Some people also last six hours a day.

Structured daily routine: Clearly defined and realistic goals in life are important, so as not to overwhelm yourself. "Stress is what you do not create".

Distribute loads: If one grows all over the head, you should seek help. A solitary mother may ask relatives and friends to take over the child more frequently, in order to allow himself a time-out.

Make work-life balance: A lot of work is not always automatically associated with stress. "Many also feel their private life as a burden and recover in their careers”. What is crucial, however, is the degree of self-determination to find its own balance between job and leisure. "There are, for example, self-employed good cards."
